Embracing Change...

Most people like to have a fairly consistent, predictable routine.  I suppose it's the sense of being in control and knowing what is coming next that gives us comfort.  There is usually some level of panic or anxiety that sets in when we are faced with needing to make a choice and wondering if we made the 'right' one.

Personally, I have always held the belief that the only constant in our lives is change.  The world around us and the circumstances surrounding us are constantly changing.  Our ability to be aware of our surroundings and include that information in our decision making can give us more confidence that we are making the right choice.  The more information we have, the better decisions we can make.  The 'comfort' we desire then shifts from knowing what is going to happen to knowing that we are capable of handling changing circumstances and adapting to them.

Being confident in ourselves is a much better position to be in than being confident that the world around us won't change!  Be clear on what goals you have for the major areas of your life: education, children, spouse, work, etc. so that when you are faced with needing to make a decision based on changing circumstances, you can feel better that you are making the right on because it will be based on more information and will be aligned with your goals.

Change...bring it on!
