Healthcare Reform

If you're like most people, you have more questions than answers about what the 'new' healthcare system is going to look like.  One consistent part of most conversations is that co-pays and deductibles will go up, if they haven't already, and people will need to become more proactive about taking care of their bodies.

Being proactive is a great thing as it helps us stay healthier, be more active and save money.  And, we reduce the burden on our healthcare system!  Making good choices about taking care of our bodies requires a little bit of knowledge and good dose of guidance.  These are the principles that went into launching myPTpro.

For the cost of a co-pay, member get access to the wealth of knowledge and collective experience of the myPTpro community as well as the expertise of the PT pros.  It's a little like having your own PT concierge!

The problem with much of the information on the internet is that it is one-way.  You read it and try to make an informed decision.  Here at myPTpro, we try to give you the information you need, let our community comment and add their own experiences and then give you the ability to ask questions so that the information becomes useful and can make a difference in your life.

Back about 20 years ago, HMO's became popular as they attempted to control some of the cost of healthcare by shifting care from the higher cost specialists back to the primary care physicians.  The primary care physicians became the gatekeepers, needing to write a referral to a specialist if the care was to be covered by the insurance company.  The current shift in healthcare puts more of the responsibility on the individual to either pay more for the care or try to use more self-care options.

Please share your thoughts on this subject...I enjoy hearing what everyone thinks and reading all the different experiences!
